The Arthroscopy Laboratory opened in 1998 thanks in part to the generous donations from several orthopedic companies. William N. Levine, MD serves as the Director of the Arthroscopy Laboratory. There are 2 fully-functional stations allowing 4-6 surgeons to work simultaneously. Anatomic dissection, anatomic research, and arthroscopic research studies have all been performed in the arthroscopy lab. The lab is fully equipped to allow virtually every arthroscopic procedure from routine knee procedures to arthroscopic rotator cuff repair.

The lab is reserved exclusively for the use of the residents, fellows, and attending staff of the Department of Orthopedics. By special request, the lab has been used to host regionally-based orthopedic surgeons and other fellows and residents in the New York area. There are current plans to expand the lab to a minimum of 4 stations. Live demonstrations can be telecast into the Carroll Conference Center, a multi-media room on the same floor, allowing more surgeons to participate.
